I'm trying to help the family of a previous owner of a J2 gather information about the car.
J 3133 was owned by Jim Seddon in the fifties and was sold by him in 1963. The photo, which was taken circa 1960, shows Jim behind the wheel of the J2 along side TC 7127 (1949)
It was Jim's fist car and he did the restoration in the late fifties.
It's always great to see these period photos,() and the family has given me permission to share it here.
Any information or points of interest about the photo or either car greatly received.
Brian.

I can't believe that I'm answering my own post here.
I just looked up in Mike Hawke's "75 Years of The J2 M.G."
Third owner. G. Porter competed in the 1934 West Hants LCC Simon Trophy Trial and the 1935 Southsea MC Hunt Cup Trial , winning the Hunt Cup. It also notes that the car is in the USA. Although the Register's only listing is prior to 1986. ??

If J3133 is still in the US, it has not been on the roster of NAMMMR cars since before 1990 when I took over as registrar.

Hi
J 3133 was last known of, in the USA, belonging to Ralph R Bush. Sadly I have no further information. The car was removed from the register in 2007, was register number 1713, as the car had not been heard of for some years. I've updated the Register history with these new owner details.
If anyone knows where it is and who owns it, please let me know and it can be revived.
Regards
Robin

Hi Brian,
Would you happen to have a picture showing the petrol tank? My car was built just before this car and I'm trying to determine if my car came with a flat back tank or the round back tank.
Best regards,
John |

Hello John,
I'm sorry that I'm not able to help. That's the only photo that I have. I would have thought that other J2 owners would have information gathered over the years on the change in production for the petrol tanks. Try it under a new topic. It might even open up a can of worms!
Brian.
