L0462, engine 779AL, gearbox 328 originally sold from University Motors London to Mr. R.A.E. Birch, 2. Sedanstrasse Køln, Germany 22/7 1933. The car stayed in Germany during the War, which can be seen on the old windscreen with the ADAC sign used in Germany from 1949 (confirmed by Hagen Nyncke,author of the book: "MG-aus liebe zum Sportwagen"). Later the car was exported to Holland, and after that to United States of America 1956-57. The car was titled in California in 1958, then purchased by Jarl de Boer Walnut Creek CA in 1958. Purchased from him by me, the present owner, in 1995 as un-restored project. The car is kept original and is totally restored 1995-1998 using about 3000 "man-hours". The coachwork is by Carbodiers. Interior by Wm. M. Collingburn with leather on seats and matching trim. New hood and tonneau. 9000 miles since 1998. Details of the restoration: The car was totally dismantled, new wood in the body, new louvres in aluminium etc. Engine totally restored with new sleeves and pistons, crankshaft reground with new inner and outer bearings, top completely done. New gears in the oil pump. Gearbox dismantled and fitted with new gaskets and bearings. Clutch restored. Back axle/differential fitted with new gaskets and bearings. Front axle refurbished with new kingpins etc. Brakes front/rear fitted with new linings etc. New wheels and wheel bearings. The original dynamo has been rewound and fitted with new bearings etc. The steering is restored with new hemispheres, bush for sector axle etc. The car is located in southwest Jutland, Denmark.
