MG PA1392. Registration PV 1660. Built 21 October 1934. 4 seat, colour green; delivered to Mr Paul Raynor, Fonnereau Road, Ipswich, through University Motors. Build file with Kimber House in Abingdon includes correspondence between Mr Raynor and the factory. I have assembled a comprehensive history file from the 1950’s to date having searched and made contact with all of owners since then.
A previous owner named her "Sweet Pea' a name which seems very apt and brings a smile to many that view her.
We bought her in 2015 as our introduction to the world of classic cars and with a heavy heart are only selling because we’ve moved on to a slightly larger 1933 MG L type.
On purchase in 2015 she had just 20 miles since a full engine rebuild, including numerous ancillary components; radiator, water pump, oil pump, dynamo, clutch. A Volumex supercharger ( blower) was added in 2016 and has transformed the cars performance. See notes available on request.
Since then we have sympathetically recommissioned pretty much every component in the car. Full strip down and respray. Complete and professional re-wire using Autosparks loom. Lights, suspension, 5 new MWS wheels and Blockley tyres, brakes, steering, tonneau, carpets, differential, half-shafts, bearings, Revotec radiator fan, Volumex supercharger, 123 electronic ignition and electronic regulator - both in period casings. The list goes on and on.
Well known in Triple-M circles for her attendance at events and rallies. She has taken us to Buckingham Palace for HM The Queens 90th Birthday Parade - and won joint 1st prize. Over 5 years we have covered 7000 hugely enjoyable miles in her without issue on rallies and gentle trips into Europe. The rear seats can easily accommodate two large holdalls, or two small children.
A well and truly sorted car. Maintained regardless of cost for reliability, and appearance. MOT to October 2020 - no advisories. Can deliver at cost with enclosed car trailer.
Please email me for a no obligation 10 page pdf file, including comprehensive history, rebuild, maintenance and photographs.
Note this car will be on display on the Triple-M Register Stand at The MG and Triumph Spares Day, Stoneleigh. Kenilworth, CV8 2LZ. Sunday 9th February 2020
