Chassis/bonnet hinge PA0348. Body No.: bulkhead woodwork/brass plate 119/528 Current engine No.:PA 2331 165. This car is one the earliest PAs which was built 24th February 1934, released for sale 13th March and first registered 23rd March 1934 to George Tombazis of Broughty Ferry. Ownership of this car has remained in Scotland ever since, in Fife, East Stirlingshire and for the last 50+years in Ayrshire. Originally a four-seater, it was converted to a two-seater in 1964 and a Ford Popular engine was fitted (the trend at that time). The present owner bought the car around 1972/3 and fitted a reconditioned PA engine -white metal bearings were re-cast and line bored along with new pistons and liners etc. The work was carried out by West of Scotland Engineering. The two-seater conversion was upgraded to two-seater specifications with a two-seater - rear Ash body, rear wings, slab tank, spare wheel carrier etc. New components include: Engine: rockers and valve assembly, vertical drive gears, bearings and seals, oil pump gears, vertical dynamo, water pump, fuel pump, coil, clutch plate and the radiator rebuilt. Body: Collingburn leather seats and trim, Andre Hartford rear shockers, rear Ash body frame, Don Hoods hood & tonneau, windscreen mounted side mirrors, battery tray, new 12 inch battery, slab tank. Headlights and Windscreen re-chromed and the body resprayed British Racing Green. Over recent years this car has been a source of delight for the grandchildren and enthusiasts alike and is a regular exhibit at Scottish shows and events where it commands central position e.g. BVAC Classic Car Show at Thirlestane, Bo’ness Car Show, Kames Car Show, Cars on the Campus (Ayrshire) and the Triple-M Summer Tour in the Scottish Borders.
