PA0492 is a wonderful red pre-war car with black leather interior, all completely restored. The instrumentation is all working, including the petrol reserve control. In addition to the original NZ registration document and the list of previous owners, not complete, there is ample documentation of most of the car's life in NZ. The car has done 20 miles on the new engine: new cylinder block, cylinder head, gaskets, Mahle pistons, phoenix crankshaft and modern con rods. The engine has been prepared for the installation of a Supercharger. All crankshaft bearings have been replaced, the water pump is new. The dynamo is modified with the internals of a Denso Alternator, an original dynamo is available. The electrical system is new as well as the petrol pump and the battery. The chassis has been completely disassembled and put on a control bench to check the alignment, all the metal parts have been sandblasted and given a coat of epoxy primer. The trunnions, the trunnion spacers and the dust seals of the leaf springs were all replaced. The body is completely new and the firewall and its supports are also new. The dashboard is new with the correct veneer. The hood (which maintains the original design with rear window), windows and tonneau cover in mohair are new.
