After a battle royal lasting since Christmas with the new Pre-War Prescott website (www.prewarprescott.com), we’ve finally got the gremlins out of the online entry system. Two online entries successfully processed today.

So entries are now well and truly open and I’m looking forward more than I can say to another superb day at Prescott. Saturday 16th July. This year, for a change, there is no conflicting VSCC speed event and RIAT is the weekend before, so we’re expecting another excellent entry.

Three MMM entries so far - Ted Hack (D), John Emmett (J1), Michael Pancheri (PB).

Got home last night to find a big package of paperwork from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in the post. We have been allocated the Lancaster PA 474 for Pre-War Prescott 2016. This is the same aircraft that so dramatically closed our Inaugural Pre-War Prescott back in 2011 when it arrived during the prizegiving by complete surprise after being weathered off at lunchtime. She suffered an in-air engine fire last spring which could have turned out very badly, but she landed safely, repairs have been completed and she is now ready for the 2016 season. I was wondering how we could follow last year's display by Peter Vacher's Hurricane. Now I know!

Just a quick note to say that I have now put the entry list out on the Pre-War Prescott website, and I'll update it as entries come in. I hope it will be of interest to see who has entered what.

I received Frank Ashley's entry yesterday so I'll add him shortly. His entry brings the MMM entry so far to 14, with a couple more in the pipeline. I think we are going to cruise past last year's record entry of 35 MMM's.

I am just about to send in my entry for Pre-war Prescott 2016. Is anyone else from the Midlands or the North of England intending to go?

Secondly, is the Triple-M Register intending to have an official presence?

Hi Bob,

I don't want to 'lead the witness', but the way Pre-War Prescott works is that it acts as an umbrella for other clubs and registers to gather and enjoy the day without the financial commitment and organizational overhead that would result from a single club trying to book Prescott. The hill alone costs GBP 6,000 for the day, and total costs come to about double that. So The Vintage Minor Register mounts the event and invites other clubs and registers to gather, having their own parking area, areas for trade stands, and so on - just like it was their own event, but all their members have to do is enter and turn up - we do the rest. Thus we keep red tape to an absolute minimum, which is the key to Pre-War Prescott's outstanding success.

I just uploaded the latest entry list to the Pre-War Prescott website, which is already out of date. Right now, we have 21 MMM's already booked in, including Colin Murrel's blown D Type (D0285). He bought it last Sunday and entered Monday!

More excellent news this morning. Ron Gammons, who may be known to many of you as an 18/80 owner is also a DH Moth man. He's organizing a grand vintage air tour of the south of England on the same day as Pre-War Prescott, and it looks like the flotilla of OVER FORTY AIRCRAFT - Moths and others - will be overflying Prescott just before the lunch break, which should make an extraordinary sight. I just have to ensure that the Lancaster doesn't get mixed up with them! The entry list currently stands at around 40 cars, so with two other Moths already scheduled to join us, we now have the slightly peculiar situation that we have more aircraft booked for the day than cars. But I suspect that advantage won't hold for long!

Quick update. 36 MMM entries so far, representing a third of total entries. We had a record 35 MMM entries on the day last year, and we've just passed that number today, with more known MMM entries on the way. Click Colin's link above for the latest entry list. But be warned - 345 climbs allocated - just 120 to go. If you want to climb the hill more than once, you know what to do!

Just playing around with the entry stats. Now 38 MMM entries, of which 14 are VMR members, 126 MMM climbs booked, 17 MMM bods for the Saturday evening BBQ and and 12 MMM cars on Sunday. PA's are popular this year - 9 booked in so far. An outstanding and record MMM entry with still 75 days to go.

Overall, 371 climbs are now booked, so we're about 100 plus a handful from capacity on the hill. You have been warned!

Three entries today - Graham Williams with his PA, Adrian Bradshaw with his wondrous 1922 ABC Brooklands and his partner has just entered her Belsize-Bradshaw. All good stuff!
