Allthough I had a windscreen frame with my L it turned out to be a wrong one. So I like to buy a complete windscreen or if available the upper rail (hinge) only.

Hi Paul, although as rare as chicken teeth the upper framed-hinge is likely to be the same as the Salonette windscreen, which in turn can be made to work from the pre-1930's 18/80 MG's ... happy hunting though

I have found if you don't ask then you don't receive. I was amazed at finding a windscreen frame for my coupe. Keep looking and asking. Cheer's pat |

Hello Cees,
Thanks for the information I will phone you as soon as possible.
Hello Pat,
Do I understand that you own a L1 Continental Coupe? Please let me know as we like to make contact with all Continental Coupe owners. Untill now we know there is one car completely ready and able to run. Besides we know of 6 or 7 Continental Coupes under restauration. Further we know off 2 cars in parts where the owners want to rebuild them as Continental Coupes.

I have two top rails for opening windscreens - I have no idea what an L CC one is like !
One is 980mm long with two sections fully integrated along its length which rotate on each other.
The other is 870mm long and was designed to rotate on pegs on the windscreen pillars.
Either any use to you ? |

Alan, Is your top rail that is 870mm wide like the one in this photo? If so it is from an M Sportsmans coupe and I am looking for one. Could you email me on keithdurston@yahoo.com if it is and you are prepared to sell it. Keith

Hello All,
This picture shows the wrong screen hinge at the left and the proper windscreen hinge at the right. The difference is the round part where the other part pivots around it, in the left one the round profile makes a 90 degree angle with the windscreen where in the right case the round part is straight on top of the windscreen.

Thank you Paulus
Sadly won't do. The windscreen bits are available new for the Stiles so if nothing turns up that is the route I will have to go. the pillars are a bit more difficult...
Many thanks

I am still searching, so please offer if you have a windscreen that pivots at the top. Frames of other types might be adapted.
