Does anyone know of the current whereabouts of this car? It was on the register some years ago, but is not currently listed. It lived in Scotland some 20 odd years ago.

Colin, the car was originally a pillarless saloon and as far as we know the last notified owner change was in 1986 when a certain Derek Smith had it. No news since then - no pictures, in fact nuffin' at all...

Hello Colin. If it was the pillar less saloon that Moray Letham made into a K3,i think it went to Japan.

Thanks all

Has anyone got names and dates? It would be good to have a better handle on this car's history!

Thanks, everyone. The enquiry was prompted by a recent chat with Derek Smith, who did own it back in the eighties, and has since lost touch with it. I recall knowing of Moray Letham back in the early nineties, Robin, but don't think we ever met. Looking forward to seeing your D type on the road. Thanks Ollie, I'll pass it on - is it now a "K3" style? I'll be seeing Derek soon, I expect, and will see what I can learn from him, Dick. Back in the day he owned several Triple-M cars, and still has a P type, off the road.

Hi guys, I was chatting to Derek Smith again last night, and it seems he has found his old KN, still in Scotland, and still with the same registration. It is an unrestored saloon, now missing its engine. Derek hopes to re-acquire it, and restore it as a saloon. I'll try to get him to update the register if he gets it back.

It would be really great if Derek can re-purchase and restore the car as a saloon, what a refreshing change from making it into a car in the style of a K3.

In restoring the car Derek would join elite group Peter Prosser and Bob Gruneau as having restored a pillar less saloon.

I understand Mike Waggot (who owns K2019) is also restoring a K1 saloon, but I haven't seen him for several years.
