My April Fool’s spoof several years ago on Bob Grunau’s left-hand-drive KN0389 wasn’t so far fetched. I’ve also seen at least 2 LHD TCs; and now comes the latest abomination of a Triple M MG converted for use in North America - F 1275.

Over on the TD/TF forum, is an attempt at yet another. Have a look at http://www2.mg-cars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&mode=thread&access=11127636106021&subject=8&source=T&thread=201609181154509178.

More sordid details on this eBay offering at http://www.ebay.com/itm/MG-F-Type-Magna-/222250301438?forcerrptr=true&hash=item33bf2677fe:g:f4YAAOSwCGVX2ZNz&item=222250301438

It must take forever to convert to lhd, and will take equally long to convert back. Certainly IMHO, not worth $19,500 USD. But there’s always someone who will have the skills to take this on.

ugh! - No Double ugh! - NO TRIPLE UGH!!

Actually it wouldn't take much to convert back to RHD as it's using an Adamant steering box...

AND 19.5K is just the asking price

shame we're not at $1.50 to the £ anymore, that would have made a difference...

If it is F 1275, (I can't see the number on the ad), it is unknown to the Register, which at least adds a bit of interest!

Love that steering wheel!

Graham

What have they done to the poor old thing! At least most of what's left of the inside looks original. Think the steering wheel is ex VW Beetle.

Couldn't find it either. But the car plate looks real.

It is no great issue to convert this car back to right hand drive. nobody seems to raise comments to such degree when an alien engine has been fitted, which is a far greater challenge to turn back to original spec, especially if you have to find the engine. Here, at least most of the parts are still there. I don't see the issue as the car needs complete restoration anyway!

A local friend of mine was actually contemplating purchasing the car last week but having looked into shipping costs and potential import duty, it doesn't really stack up. I guess it won't be coming back to the UK at this price sadly
