Guys

The build of my PB hillclimb car progresses well but I have now reached the point where a couple of large items are clearly missing from my parts boxes.

I need a dynamo and a starter please.

So has anybody out there got either they are willing to part with? I well understand that I am likely to be looking at spare units which will need rebuilding and as long as that is reflected in the price I have no problem as long as the units are complete.

So - what have you?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Guys

I am bumping this one back up the listings I'm afraid.

I now have a starter but am still looking for a dynamo. I have been offered a 6v in Germany and a great unit in Canada but both are going to incur significant carriage. Is there anybody with a suitable unit in the UK?

Thanks in advance.

Regards of the season to all.

Sports and Vintage have supplied two brush dynamos matched to a more modern cut out - I think as used in Morris 1000s.

The existing cut out can be left in situ and the new one hidden under the scuttle.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately they have no stock and Jamie told me that they are unlikely to get any in the near future.

I got a 2 brush from Andy King and it's still going strong with a DVR3 regulator from Dynamo Regulators Ltd; http://www.dynamoregulators.com/index.php. It was some years ago but it might be worth trying him.

Thanks for the thought but I'm afraid Andy told me in the middle of December that he has no stock at present.

Hi Tim
Just a thought if your building a racer you don't need a working dynamo you just need a case and shaft to join the two end together

The reason Wolseley mounted the dynamo in such a daft position was that the weight of the armature acted as a damper on the vertical cam drive - so just using a shaft might give problems.
That said, Bugatti used a simple shaft vertical drive and they work fine !
