I assume the light has a threaded collar on it to take the nut...

I need both the light and the nut..!

Just as a point of interest. ..... Is the panel upside down ? .... Should the PLC switch be the lowest item not the uppermost ?

Having taken the time to look at other J dash photo's they are all as shown above ..... How strange that the 0 should be the other way round !

Tom,

The chrome nut doesn't retain the light unit, it simply retains the coloured lens. The light unit is retained by a spring and small horseshoe shaped retaining clip behind the panel. This photo shows how it fits and it's a bugger to fasten!






This, of course, is a repro unit without the resistance wiring. It is also slightly smaller, at 19mm diameter, than the hole for an original unit which is 3/4" - hence the black rubber packing round the hole in the dash.

I can only think that the P Type panel was put the other way up was so that the key fob hangs clear and does not obscure the oil pressure gauge...

The panel on my L2 is the same was round as the one shown in the picture.
