Tom,

Many of us use the Bosch 009 distributor which requires only a small amount of modification to allow it to fit. Well worth considering.

Simon, what is the subtle modification needed to make these work then? One would presume you don't need the Adv/Retard mechanism then either? Do we have any photos of the mod and how you/they have been set up on the car?

The shaft of an Bosch 009 is too short. It needs a longer dogbone or/and machining the shaft. I made both...

Chris,

Olli hit the nail on the head - get one from Foz and it just drops in. Time it to give, as I recall, about 30-35 degrees of advance at about 3000 revs and you're good to go.

Thanks Geoff. So DA plus a number.

Can anyone suggest the precise number? A picture of an original distributor would be great.

When I first acquired my ND it came with a DK 6A which are the first two photographs. I then established that the original distributor was a DQH 6 A which I subsequently managed to acquire. Martin of DD advised me that they were unreliable and it was very difficult to get parts. I therefore put this in a box to go with the car when it moves on to a new owner.( picture 3 & 4)
I then obtained a DX 6A which is now fitted to the car(picture 5) and has proved trouble free over the past four years and is more like the original DQH 6A with the horizontal leads.
Hope this helps in the discussion
Malcolm

Hello Thom . It is also possible to let make a 123 ignigtion in your own distributor . When you are doing it you change the advance with you I-Phone. You have to contact the shop of Ebels in Netherlands . Regards HenK3
