As with all M parts a long shot,

It is now confirmed the handbrake lever I have is not correct (probably SV Minor). It hits the tank and traps finger so not really acceptable in its functioning

Before I have to get creative with the hacksaw angle grinder and oxy bottles does anyone have a spare?

Neil, the M lever is really just a bent Morris one with the knob removed. Just heat it up and bend it. I can measure the angles for you - it's bent back at the bottom and forward at the top - although perhaps someone has one that is easier to get at.

Barrie Dean did me a template, so I have that covered thanks The problem is the M is a modified OHC minor one and I have the SV which has a striaght'ish lever with a sideways jink in it to move it to near the centre line of the GB, I just don't see the ratchet release working well having to translate in two planes rather than one. could be wrong of course, it has been known.
