The S&V part 1984 shown in their catalogue is listed for J's & later cars. It is different to the M stay (see photos in the Technical thread} I have sent S&V an enquiry & am awaiting their reply
Thankyou Mark, I'll contact Andy King & order a pair. By coincidence a local M owner emailed me yesterday & suggested I try Andy as well. Another small step toward making my car more original!
I've been on Andy King's web site & notice he also has M type wing clamps similar to the ones posted on my thread in the Technical section (the 2 bolt type). Which is correct for my late (December) '31 metal bodied M?
Geoff, Mark should be able to confirm but I think that the wing clamps are relative to the wing shape and not fabric or metal body type. I think your car, being metal bodied has the square "helmet" rather than the round section beaded type wing and that the oval 2 holed fixing plate would be at the wrong angle to fit your wing. Andy King may be able to help to confirm this info as well. Keith
Shows (on page 22) that the changeover is @ 2M2703/4.
If you look, the rearwing "stay" is. Part no. 227 throughout however, up to 2M2703 the wing bracket (front) is. Part no. 226 with qty 6 and a note saying "2 for rear" after 2M2704 the rear bracket is listed separately as part no. 587.
