Dear Forum:

Came across this advertisement for a F? bitza special.
It's in Germany. Been heavy modified at some point
Underneath there should be an F. Anybody recognize registration?
DVLA says its known but little else.
Is it known to club?

Did not JO 4333 go with F1076?

Yet our register suggests that reg. JO 4333 was associated with F1076 from new!

Ian (Ross) if you see this post would you please comment? Thanks.

Dear Forum:

Have I understood this correctly.
Two cars? one registration? neither appear to be listed or documented.
Please explain.?
All the best.

John,

It's happened before! Log books have been substituted in the past and DVLA control was not particularly robust in at least two cases of which I am aware. Fortunately, with a bit of dogged determination the truth usually comes out in the end.

Dear John James and Forum:

I understand the cock up theory to research , databases and everything.
Fits in with my personal view in such matters.

F0935 is show in a photograph on Ian Ross's site with
registration JO 4333.Also appears in ad I posted earlier.
The car has been rudely re-bodied at some time. Also was/is in Germany. Any clues there?
What if anything do we know of the other car F1076?
Thank-you, again.
Anything else?
All the best.

As regards F1076, other than the fact that a C.L. Giles of Oxford bought it new on 15 June 1932 when its reg was JO 4333 and colour was blue with blue trim, the crystal ball is a bit cloudy! I wonder what is the engine number with the German chassis underneath 'that body'?

Hi All
Why has no-one contacted the advertiser in Germany?!
I can only go by the information I'm supplied and it was Andy King who identified the car as F0935 a couple of years ago when he had it.
It would seem that F1076 is more likely but the current owner should be able to clarify this!
I wish people would be more careful about checking chassis numbers rather than registration 'number' plates which were sometimes changed over!
Cheers
Ian
P.S. What body did F1076 have originally?

Hi Dick
Thanks.
I presume you could check the identity of F0935 from the factory files.
Did anyone identify the other 'F' type Tourer in that Irish photo? (MV6699)
By the way the database still has the photos of my F1341 attached to F1344!
Cheers
Ian
