Almost the last job to do before the re-commissioning of my PA is complete is to fit the propshaft. The original propshaft shows no perceptible wear other then slight end/side float in one plane on the rear UJ. I would like to re-use the original and am wondering how straightforward a job it is to replace these needle roller bearings. Also, any info with regard to bearing numbers and a supplier would be handy.

It's one of those jobs I've never tackled on a Triple M car, There is some stuff in WE Blower's book which makes it sound relatively simple, but I'd appreciate feedback here as well.

The cheapness of an all new balanced propshaft makes that an attractive option, but other than slight movement on one yoke, I can find little wrong with this one.

If you go down the new replacement route a couple of months agoI had a P type propshaft shorterned for fitting a crosstube ENV box to my J. I also asked for a price for having a new propshaft made and they quoted ú90 which I thought was very reasonable.

They are based in Leeds and the company is Dunning and Fairbank on the Cross Green Estate and who specialise solely in propshaft repair and maanufacture

Hope this is of help

What is your chassis number? I think that from 1754 onwards they had Hardy Spicer needle roller joints, My 2032 certainly has and these are quite easy to change.
