Don't forget, chaps, that this is about vehicle testing and the current rules about vehicle registration continue to apply without change.

Forgive my cynicism, but as one who once worked for the Deparment of Transport, I doubt they understand the legislation any better than we do !
Regards to all,
Chris. |

Chris
Reading the FBHVC reports on their discussions with the Department the impression is of diligent and hard working staff who have tried to address the concerns that FBHVC have put forward. I think it’s rather unfair to dismiss them in such a peremptory way, even if you did work there yourself at one time. (Speaking as an ex civil servant myself )

I think it might stop the making of the ASP (all spare parts) specials as we did in the 50's and 60's, chassis' from Austin Seven, Morris Minor, Ford Eight and Ten, Hillman Minx, Wolseley etc. etc. with an assortment of engines preferable an XPAG if you could find one and the skills to make them fit. But perhaps it will also stop the desecration of repairable cars.

John,
Don't forget, this is only about MOT testing requirements - the current rules regarding registration of reconstructed classics, etc., remain unchanged.
