Does anyone have any information about Rod Sawyer who lived in the Kent area some years ago and is understood to have owned a number of pre-war M.G.s. It is possible that he has now passed away, but if he is still around, Len Goff (an MMM enthusiast for over 50 years) is trying to make contact.

Colin,
Rod died at least 10 years ago - may have been as long ago as 15 years. When I knew him he owned a TD and either a TA or TB Tickford.
As I've not spoken to Len for some time I've phoned and told him.
Kind Regards, JOHN |

Thank you John. Len has phoned to say that he now has the information he was looking for - no doubt, thanks to you. As a matter of interest, was Rod the R B Sawyer who is listed in the 1991 VSCC Members List, and who lived at Dunkirk, near Faversham in Kent? Car owned, a 1935 NA four seater?

Yes, Colin. Rod lived in Dunkirk, Faversham.
His TA Tickford was advertised in March 2007 due to his failing health. I think he died in 2008.
And Len, what can I say...........a true gentleman!
Kind Regards, JOHN |

Thanks John. That ties up the loose ends. As for Len, yes, he is a remarkable man in so many ways.
Best wishes,
Colin. |
