Hi Guys thanks to Dick Morbey and subsequent scrutiny of exploded diagrams I see that my carbs are minus their inline filters and springs fitted behind the bayonet connection.
A eureka moment only marred by the fact that SU are out of stock until May !...so I wondered wether anyone could give me a lead on another supplier or might have some stashed away that they might sell a couple of....including springs.

Hi Dave try these two contacts they both rebuild carbs and they are very helpful TONY HEBDON 0114 235 1963 he is in Sheffield or ANDREW TURNER 01476 860555 he is in Lincolnshire.Tony may be your best bet he seems to specialise in older carbs.

Hi Kevin, thanks for the lead as my teacher always said I should have tried harder and checked there myself first! much appreciated anyway Kevin and thanks Chris I have tried Andrew who is out of stock so I will try Tony and eBay hopefully get the old girl fired up before spring gets here .

Joe Curto in New York is a good source and very knowledgeable. Best to phone as he can be a little slow answering emails. Aren't we all!
