Chris. I don't know whether the car has been sold yet. I will ask its owner John Lackey and post the answer here in due course.

Chris. I have now been advised by John Lackey that QA0257 is still for sale at the price previously mentioned. For those who do not know the car, it is one of only eight cars built and has been in Australia since 1934. I attach a picture of the car taken 4/5 years ago when it was reaching the end of a major rebuild by Richard Moore (photo courtesy of Elaine Moore). Richard is the one on the right. The second picture was taken last year and shows John Lackey in the car, about to leave the line at Rob Roy Hill Climb.

Thanks, Colin, Matthew and Nigel.
Fabulous car.
All I need now is the spare cash to buy it ! I must say I am amazed that it hasn’t been snatched up before now.

Yes, I am also surprised that it hasn't yet sold - especially to someone in Australia. Equally surprising is that John has managed to obtain permission from the Government to sell it outside of Oz - which rather implies that it is not of sufficient importance to the history of Australian motor sport. I don't really mind where it ends up, so long as it is brought out regularly for us "oiks" to drool over.
