The title says it all! A pal of mine is in dire need of a complete PA gearbox or alternatively a complete set of internals. When he finally got round to rebuilding the engine and gearbox of his car with the intention of reinstalling them to replace the BMC A series currently in the car he found the gearbox internals to be so rusty as to be unusable.

Can anyone help?

Simon, I can help here, in fact possibly a good match. I have a PA gearbox without remote and without P type bell housing. The gearbox is in decent order but has come from another application. Let me know offline whether your friend may be interested.

Rich,

Thanks. I'm only the messenger but I'll ask my pal if he's heard from you.

Simon. Tell your friend not to scrap the rusty box. Years ago I collected two PA boxes from Richardsons yard at Staines and these had been sitting out in the open with no remotes for years and were full of rainwater. On stripping them, I found that most of the internals were perfectly useable and in fact the gears were probably less worn than others which had been in use for the previous thirty years rather than just resting in the corner of an open field.

I'll pass this on, Colin, but I gather the internals are very bad.

Many thanks

I am still looking for an ENV gearbox clutch cross shaft which I believe is the same as a P type one, so if this becomes available I would be happy to purchase. Thanks
