Guys

The title says it all. I am looking for a 4 star differential from an N or P for me to get rebuilt with an 8/39 crown wheel & pinion. So missing or chipped teeth (on the CW or P) is not a problem.

Please reply to my home e-mail address, which is shown on my profile.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Tim

A complete differential in its casing? I'm afraid I cannot spot it. I can see parts.

Oh, I see, sorry, perhaps I was not clear enough in the first posting. What I am after is a complete differential unit in its casing so that when it is rebuilt with the 8/39 CWP I can put it straight into the car using the current unit as a swapable spare.

Tim. You will find on coming to swap a P/N diff unit with your present YA diff that the bolt holes in the banjo do not line up. It is necessary to either drill new holes in the banjo or in the flange of the diff. When fitting a YA diff to my PA, I chose to drill the Y Type flange so that I can swap back onto a P/N at any time.

Looks like a 2 star with an alloy rather than steel casing to me thus not N or P; I would not like to push 80+ bhp through it!

Thanks for the thought. Actually I'm lucky in that the banjo I have is P type and the YA diff has 12 holes rather than 6 as the previous owner had fitted it to an N type and the YA flange had been drilled with the P type holes, exactly as you have done.

Actually I think that I might be better off getting another YA diff and having a bespoke CWP made for that, and I can get the flange drilled as you suggest when the whole unit is reassembled. I just need to get a template made to ensure the additional holes are correctly aligned.

Anybody got a YA diff' for sale?

Regards

Tin , I know I have a complete YA diff that is surplus to requirements. Today I shall dig it out , inspect it for condition and ratio and let you know.
