Brian, XK140 now seeing her in all her glory. Big bumpers with over riders. 120 has thin bumpers with no over riders at front and, as I recall, over riders only at the back.

Cheers,

Dave

Brian

Many thanks for an intriguing puzzle, of course as yet unsolved, I have spent many an hour researching, it is always a pleasure to muse over Scottish holidays.

Colin has confirmed grid reference NG791212 a beautiful spot.

My first thought for the original post was Lochalsh but it doesn’t fit, then the Corran crossing from the east bank, a near fit but the Scotch Mist would have to play tricks and a lighthouse would have to be invisible.

If in Scotland I too am at a loss.

Brian's pic of Jan 4th is the clincher.
I was there with my daughters midget a few years ago.
Have also stayed at the nearby village - lovely spot

Thanks to all for the input and interest shown
in the Posting. Especially to Colin for providing the extended location and mentioning the other ferries in the area.

My trip was in May 2017. Skye was the hottest two days in Britain..... A wonderful tour, albeit in a rental car!

If I stumble over the Mag which the photo was in I'll confirm it here on the Forum.

Brian.

How about this, Mike?

Mallaig-Armadale is bottom right, and Kylerhea is lower middle right.
