I had an enquiry from a gentleman named Paul who writes: -
"I have a toolkit and I believe to be MG, the biggest clues are the hexagon bar with socket for cylinder head nuts, part number in the VA parts list S78/21 feeler gauge stamped .019 S78/3 and tappet spanner S78/2, the tool kit is housed in a drawer and this Is factory made, the tools are all chrome which is unusual. Also the wooden insert where the tools are housed is rose wood or walnut, the underside is pine and has some writing in pencil, the word BODY and BROWN COUPE, this doesn’t make much sense, the draw is a dark blue
Im wondering if this is a one off tool kit, maybe something to do with Cecil Kimber or if it was a special order for someone of importance, I also wonder if this was added to a MG chassis by Pickford"
Does anyone recognise these as being M.G.
ETA - Having posted it I notice that it has equipment for Hydraulic brakes, so it is obviously not Triple M, but as many of you have other cars can you help it appears to be in a draw that has its place somewhere in the car. Also I wonder if the feeler gauge would work having been chromium plated?
The following are the pictures he sent: -
