The previous topic appears to be locked. But to clear up any confusion, I have just transferred my insurance to Hagerty, I find them an excellent company to deal with. The trailer insurance is for 15 foot overall length not bed length.
When I queried this very point with Hagerty they emailed me to say it was bed length, excluding hitch point. Let’s face it, only those of us with small Triple-M cars could use a trailer with an overall length of 15 feet.
As it happens, my Hagerty insurance was up for renewal and when speaking to them on the phone this morning I double checked the definition of trailer length in their policy and the 15 feet referred to is bed length, not overall trailer length.
