Interesting that it would seem to be plated.

The Register shows J3537 does survive and has been rebuilt in the style of a J4 - Triple-Register number is 2884, owner Alan Old. Does anyone know him?
There are a few occasions when a Guarantee plate survives, one such is F0409 where I have posted a request for any information, so far without any responsie.

Thanks, Peter. I recall some discussions in the past about these being 'flash' chromed where the chrome was of poor quality and simply wore/fell off over time.

George, On the subject of F0409 it might be worth contacting Ian Ross whose F Magna Registry seems to suggest this was a four seat tourer that was dismantled and parts amalgamated with F 0714 which at some time in the past was rebuilt as an F2 replica and apparently now resides in Germany. Regards, Mike

Hi Mike I have been in contact with Ian who also has no recent information.
There was some confusion over identity but the car that was at Coys was F0409, the chassis stamping is genuine.

Guarantee plates were plated, very poorly and very thin, not brass finish

I notice also that it doesn’t have the hole for the footrest bracket that so many of them have!

The plate for F0409 has a 1/4" hole drilled in it's top edge and central to the width.
