There is no record of the Registration number JXN 934 in the Register and as such this could be a "new" car! I am trying to find out more and maybe Lew Palmer could shed some light?
At first glance this looks like an NB - it has the correct door hinges and grill. The dashboard does not help as the centre panel might be from a T type?
I am attempting to acquire this car, so please don't jump in on me. I have received a photo of the engine number which clearly belongs to an NB. I will post more information as I receive it.
Sorry to read you did not succeed in buying the car. I also received a photo of the engine number which shows it is not a twin breather block as fitted to the NBs.
I have not been able to get any indication as to chassis number.
As we are limited/ reduced to photographs and little history. Why the extra metal bracing on the chassis ? Crash damage is my first thought. Plus other loose ends. Makes me think this maybe a project too far.
I have now seen a clearer picture of the engine number stamping which shows the stamping 164 indicating a twin breather engine. Sadly the engine number does not show up on the data base so the chassis number is still unknown - Lew is trying to get the information.
Looking again at the pictures in detail does show the scuttle is as for the NB. This coupled with the door hinges/radiator/engine type indicates the car is a rare surviving example of the 2 seat NB of which only 92 were made.
I do hope the new owner plans to rebuild the car to it's original spec - some very original Ns have unfortunately been rebuilt in the style of a K3.
