3/6d for repairs to the mirror - carried out it seems by the maker of the mirror?
My local garage recently replaced all the injectors, all the coil packs and the ECU in my (65,000 mile) BMW in search of a fault; merrily lobbing all the 'old' parts into a skip and handing me a bill for many thousands of pounds. No wonder modern cars are in the frame for sins against sustainability!!

Make the most of it while you have it John. In 20 years time we will all be sittingt around waiting for our "green" electric matchbox cars to re-charge, if the newspapers are to believed. Good thing that our old M.G.s will happily run on alcohol fuel.

Interesting that the chassis numbers are in order and the engine numbers seriously all over the place.

Hi Ian, after completion of the chassis, the engine is only assigned. The engines were taken as they were already completed in the factory. As a result, the engine does not have the same number as the chassis number.

No that's not the point. The chassis numbers are sequentail, the engine numbers far from it.

I understand that they were drawn down from stock as available. but what form of stock management created this issue pattern. JIT has yet to be invented!
