Just read an account of a Royal Marine pilot from the 30's/ 40's (Major Richard Partridge) and he writes about driving from Gosport to RAF Leuchars in Scotland in his "Rover 20HP 2 seater sports car". The accompanying photo (untitled) on the next page shows this MG J2 with the author in the driving seat! Wonder what became of PO 7380 (Portsmouth registration) Simon C.
Thanks, Peter, not surprised but a pity though. As a matter of passing interest, the aircraft flown by Richard Partridge (Blackburn Skua) was shot down in Norway in 1940, landed on a frozen lake, then sank to the bottom and was recovered by Royal Navy divers in the 70's. The well preserved remains are now displayed in the Fleet Air Arm museum. Simon C.
