Amidst all the sadness and disruption of the present days there is one tiny glimmer of good news. Thanks to a huge effort by contributors, expert design from Ted Koehorst and dedicated hard work by the Editor Simon Johnston, not to mention Terry Hartley who oversaw the print and production ... pause for breath .... the 2019 Yearbook is now available from the Library. The price remains at £12 plus postage - details from https://triple-mshop.org/
Articles include: • Register President Mike Allison contributes an article featuring some of the ladies, fabled in M.G. history, who competed in Triple-M cars when the cars were new; • Ray Masters re-tells the story of the Ted Lund Special - an M.G. PB that has been actively campaigned for some 80 years to date. The author was privileged to own and compete in the car from 1959 to 1971; • Technical guru Barry Foster contributes an indispensible technical article about the Volumex supercharger. He shows how to dismantle, modify and successfully reassemble the blower, which is increasingly to be found in Triple-M M.G.s; • 2019 marked the 90th anniversary of the start of Triple-M production and with it the emergence of the M type Midget. Mike Dalby gives an in depth analysis of the evolution of the M type, with special attention to its racing exploits and the trail it blazed for the M.G sports cars that followed it; • M.G.s were exported to many parts of the World including Australia. From there Graeme Jackson and Andrew Fock describe the exploits of Squadron Leader John Summers who competed in successive Australian Grands Prix in his L type Magna Special. Also highlighted are other notable Aussie drivers in this and other M.G. Magnas of the day. • Tim Luffingham offers 'Peaks of the Adriatic' a tale of derring-do as he recounts his PA midget's participation in a 2019 tour for Pre-War cars, travelling through eight countries in the Western Balkans. This was a challenging exploit, but one which the car, driver and navigator came through unscathed, despite various local difficulties .. • This article is juxtaposed with a reprint of the article from the 1935 MaGazine on touring Eastern Europe in an M.G.
Competition Secretary Mike Linward rounds off the 2019 Yearbook with a lavishly illustrated and detailed account of the many racing, trialling, speed and other events in which Triple-M cars were active during 2019.
Definitely one to add to your bookshelf!

Thank you for your kind words, George, but it really is a team effort. Without our contributors I’d have nothing to edit; without Ted Koehorst, our designer, we wouldn’t have the attractive publication that we have; without Terry Hartley, it wouldn’t get printed; and without Elizabeth Taylor hustling our advertisers it would cost a lot more.
That said, I hope everyone enjoys it.
