I have received the following message and request from Francois-Xavier Doucet, but we do not have any information to help the enquirer:

Hi,

I'm very interested in the history of MG prewar cars even if I doesn't have any one..
But in some researches I find some informations about a driver during the fifties with prewar cars.
It's the Mitchell Brothers Garage (S.A Mitchell)
He may had drive with a MG Saloon 2 liters and a more little motor with a MG PA during 1950-1954.

I'm interesting about more informations about this driver and his cars. Do you know if someone could help me ?

Can anyone help, please? Francois-Xavier is at doucet.fx@gmail.com

TIA

It might help if Francois-Xavier could tell us where Mitchell Brothers Garage was based. I knew a John Mitchell in the late 60s when he was working for Muriel Raby at Empire Cars in Brighton as buyer and chief mechanic. Empire Cars certainly specialised in handling sports cars and other vehicles of interest. Steve Dear bought his PB Cracker JB7521 from Muriel. Probably no connection whatsoever, but I wonder whether John was one of the "Mitchell Brothers".

Dick , Colin and Forum:

The best fit I can find-at the moment is ;
Mitchel Brothers Forest Gate. see link below.
Am still looking but I am struggling.
DVLA does not recognize registration.
The car in the advertisement is listed as a PA-and TC.??
So another loose end./question.
Will keep looking.

Hello John,

Have you perhaps mixed a topic from a different thread into this one?

HAng on a moment, as far as we know the car mentioned in the C and C advert is PA1479 a so called Mitchell Special, so it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that it is one and the same car that F-X is asking about...

Dick and Forum:

Given the basic information as posted ;
I could have ended up with the wrong conclusion.
Should have asked for more background details.
The names and dates fit-ish.
What I do not understand is the lack of more information about the Mitchel Brothers and there racing career or cars.
All the best.

Maybe I'm going blind, but no one seems yet to have picked up on the fact that, in the advert John has linked to, the name S.A. Mitchell appears twice! Sounds like a good possibility John.
