This was probably one of the best programmes on TV for some time, and any MMMM viewers will have spotted Sir Tom's uncle Billy in his M-Type. Clearly it was a 29 car with the brake cross shaft through the valance and rear hinged doors, but if you looked carefully the car had the later large centre wheels. When did the factory chage from small centres to large centres? I have always thought they came with the revisions in 1930. Sir Tom's uncle Billy was a successful motorcycle trials competitor winning many trophies, did he perhaps also compete in car trials and like me, decided that the large centre wheels were stronger?

Knew I had seen the picture before! It is in the book of the Ilkley & District M. C. with a piece on Billy Moore!
As was said in the programme he died in the garage over come by fumes from the car, not the M type but an Austin Seven!
Not sure about the date of the wheels, but as you say an early car!
