Some of you may have been wondering about the traditional MG/triumph spares day which takes place at Stoneleigh Park every February.

The date scheduled for the 2021 show is Sunday 7th February but unfortunately it appears that the event will not take place at Stoneleigh. That is because the National Agricultural Centre has redeployed the exhibition halls as long-term storage for all manner of items including, so we are told, Silverstone classic cars, stocks and other items.

The event is organised by a company called Live Promotions and they are researching possible alternative venues, but as yet nothing has been decided.

When we hear any more we will of course let the Triple-M community have details.

On this occasion, please don’t shoot the messenger!

It looks like it's going to be the Telford International Centre, on 7th Feb'21. They've just posted on Facebook.

Thanks Colin.

Next question: Will it happen?!

Next: Looking on the bright side - who would like to volunteer to assist the Register the evening before and on the day?

You can count on our help Dick, both Sat and Sunday as previous recent years assuming that it goes ahead, and assuming we are not at Goodwood on the Saturday, in which case you can count on us from Sunday onwards :)

TELFORD: too early, too small, too dodgy. Have to think seriously if it's worth the risk.

'Live Promotions' should wait to the Spring, when(probably) we can all enjoy a super show.

Keep safe , Barry W.

I must admit, it does seem a bit too soon Barry.

Great choice of venue :). But really can’t see it happening and without overseas visitors will it be that viable

Indeed you have to wonder at it happening and the viability :(

I was lead to understand by government ruling that all indoor events couldn't take place until at least the end of March when it would be reviewed and deemed safe to do so.I have always had a stand at Stoneleigh but i think it is to early to say it would be safe to go ahead,we all want these events to start up again so i think it would be better to wait a little longer and safe.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN DEFERRED FROM FEBRUARY 7th 2021 UNTIL A DATE (TBC) IN APRIL 2021

The Triple-M Register hopes to attend the show at the new venue (Telford International Centre, Overdale, Telford, TF3 4JA)
with a stand and displays - Covid-19 permitting

Confusion reigns!

Message just received from the Show organisers states:

Thank you for your email and hope you are well
No we aim for 7th February to go ahead as we are hoping certain restrictions on indoor events will be lifted by then i.e the number of visitors allowed in the hall at one time because if it stays as it currently states it will not be viable to do the event and because of this we have also held a April date.

I think this begs a very large question over whether exhibitors and visitors will wish to risk attending the event.

Ther best we can say for the time being is 'watch this space'.....

Received an automated email from the organisers yesterday; no mention of an April date, just that it would go ahead in Feb ! Not a good idea, methinks!
