In response to member interest we are looking at the possibility of the Triple-M Register having a presence at the MGCC's three day event at the Malvern Showground in August. This could be somewhat along the lines of what you could have expected at MGCC Silverstone (sans racing) if it had taken place
The event is a joint promotion between the MG Car Club and the TR Register and Triumph Sports Six Club (TSSC) and it takes place on 13th to 15th August.
Details of the event are at https://triumphandmgweekend.com
Numerous attractions (including the California Cup competition) will be available both on the showground as well as tours and other activities in the local vicinity
MMM Committee member Tim Luffingham is heading a small team from the Register which is looking at the practicalities. We need to confirm our attendance to the Club by next Friday, May 21.
Our decision will be dependent on several factors and ingredients, including: 1. The number of Members and Triple-M owners intending to attend the event 2. A small number of volunteers being available to help
To help with the planning, this is where you come in! 1. Would you please indicate (without commitment) whether you may be likely to attend one or more of the three days. This will help us gauge the likely numbers; 2. If so, would you be willing to spare some time to support the Register in a practical way on the ground at the event?
Please respond by replying to this post or by sending an e-mail to Tim at eventsandtours@triple-mregister.org please don't delay - and thanks in advance!

Currently 88 readers but no replies as yet!
Perhaps I should have asked you to answer yes or no to let us know whether you might be planning to attend the event.
Thanks very much Dick M (currently flying without instruments!) |

Hi Dick, I am planning on attending, possibly with J3 and motorhome, dependent upon VSCC Prescott the previous weekend allowing camping. I could be available to assist any register participation. Regards, David J3768

Many thanks to those who emailed me directly to indicate a wish to attend this event or to offer their support. The uptake was very low - less than 5 in fact! This being the year that it is understandably lends itself to a 'wait and see' attitude before committing to public events. In order to cover the three days we would need to rely heavily on volunteers and so regretfully we have advised the MGCC that we won't be attending in an official capacity. They are very keen to promote it however and encourage you to attend.

I know the usual February event was moved because of Covid etc but how come the two organisers managed to get combined marque events on consecutive weekends and only a relatively short distance apart? Surely they are splitting there potential audience as may be indicated by the lack of response to the above. Personally I will only be attending one of these as it will be a 4 hour drive either way, however I may well have been inclined to visit both if they were a month or two apart. Is the club supporting the one day event?

this is an yearly event at Malvern, put on originally by the TR Register, and recentlty in conjunction with the Triumph Sports Six Club. With no MG Live, the MGCC was approached with an invitation to join. it's always been this weekend in August from memory

so far as I know, yes. Unless they (and it's not organised, by any of the MG / Triumph Clubs, but a third party) postpone it again!!
