John Morgan - North Surrey MGCC has invited me to publish details of an upcoming BBQ. Although not until 26th July it is already well subscribed and John has emphasised that entries will need to be placed by end of play Friday 2nd July.

Our BBQ is returning to the excellent Walcountians RFC, with again the interesting attraction of a Master Butcher at work. One of our members, Peter Parker, had everyone enthralled at our last BBQ, and is from a family butchers (now in its fourth generation). He will be preparing a half pig, including a variety of chops, pork steaks, belly slices, etc. in preparation for the BBQ. The demonstration will last up to one hour, during which we will be treated to BBQ sausages. The demonstration will also include part boning and marinating chickens ready to BBQ. He will bring some larger chickens to be completely boned for rolling and stuffing. There will be some joints and prepared chicken for sale
The demonstration wilI start at about 7pm, with the BBQ being served from about 8.30pm. The BBQ will include choice from pork chops/steaks/belly slices, chicken, sausages, various salads, etc. The club has a weather protected covered Demonstration/BBQ patio area and, COVID Roadmap permitting, a great clubroom/bar. Don’t miss this very unusual experience to see a master butcher at work, for what must be one of the best Club BBQs ever! Cost will be just £12.50 per person with 30 people minimum.
