I know I have seen a drawing in the past with dimensions of the pocket aperture but I cannot find it. I have tried a search of archived posts and also looked on the Dutch Triple M site (where I thought I'd seen it) to no avail. Anybody able to point me to it?

Here - these should help, they are the patterns I use when making J and P door panels. The outer edges are oversize, so you will need to trim them to fit. I can send PDFs to someone to put in the technical section if wanted.

Carl those dimensions are roughly correct. My original pattern shows 4 1/2 inches at bottom, 4 1/4 inches at front and 4 1/2 inches at rear but it depends precisely where you measure. I doubt whether 1/4 inch either way makes much visual difference. The shape of the Octagon Heaven opening is wrong. The bottom corners should be curved as shown in Toms diagrams above. Also worth clarifying that the J2 opening had no stitching around its edge but the P type did, again as shown in Toms diagram. Terry

As a matter of interest, I believe that the factory also used an alternative, triangular door pocket aperture as per example below. I had the same thing on J2484 when I acquired it in the late 1960s. Have to say I prefer the half-moon variant
