This is F0405 which started life as a black Salonette.

It was recently purchased from the estate of the deceased owner together with a 2 seat N type which is now in America.

Nice project!

I stumbled across it a month or so ago and understood then that it had been sold.

Mechanically it looks complete.

The windscreen is salonette but the original pillers have been cut off as has the rear. of the body. If anyone buys it and wants to restore it to original my car is not yet trimmed and could be copied and I have lots of spare original parts courtesy of Chris Blood so could help, and would like to!

Cheers

P

It would be rather nice to see it restored as a Salonette, particularly as so much of the original structure remains in place.

I think it fell slightly short of the vendors asking price

Looks like it fell well short of its needed price; mind you, I know the cost of restoration isnt cheap nor easy, especially when its a salonette. Who ever takes it on will find the special parts for a salonette are now impossible to find. There are a handful of us who have done it who I am sure will impart their knowledge. Yes we all know its likely commercially best to make a F2 as they are much more usable and beautiful MG.
