The Guardian reports here on changes to the Highway Code.

They are designed to improve safety around the slower road users.

Pity they couldn't be extended to vintage cars!!!

I find that modern cars/divers show far more courtesy to me when driving my M type than when I am riding my bicycle.

I agree David. The only thing I have to look out for is the fact that most modern drivers have never driven a car with cable brakes and have no idea about overtaking then allowing me the "braking space" I have left in the line of traffic in front of me! I don't think it is rudeness; just a complete lack of understanding about the challenges of driving a vintage car. I think they are usually keen to get a good view of the front of the car in their rear view mirror after overtaking. It's a small price to pay for attracting a lot of interest in "our shared passion".

Keith, I have placed a large red Alvis triangle on the rear of my Alvis so that the overtaking car knows what make it is rather than them slowing up and trying to read a small radiator badge.

One of the pleasures of living in the Welsh Marches is that with little traffic one does not fall further and further back in a line of traffic whilst leaving cable braking distance each time one is overtaken.
