Sorry, my bad - that should of course be Emmylou Harris.
Now, back on the subject!

I found adding a nearside mirror made all the difference with the hood up. Personally I don't find sitting on wet seats enjoyable! |

This is on my 'to do' list, Ian. (Adding the mirror, that is; not sitting on wet seats. )

Simon, be careful about the arm for that mirror. In all honesty I find my left hand mirror almost useless even without the side screen. On the other hand Claire finds she has a very good rear view and that is a good thing.

Thanks, Dave. I’d concluded some years ago that a Lucas 160 mirror on the nearside couldn’t actually be seen by the driver. What I have in mind - some day - is a mirror mounted on the side of the windscreen frame, rather like the J1/F1, etc. One of these days!

Here's the nearside mirror on my PA. The arm is bolted through the slot for lowering the windscreen (which means it has to be removed to lower the screen). Very effective.

Yes, T Types use the same trick but it doesn't work on a J2 with the serrated B nuts.
But that aside, I wonder what the OP thinks so far? There have been a lot of comments and suggestions for him but he hasn't acknowledged any of them.
