Good to see John Gillet racing K3030 at Monaco this weekend. Live coverage is on You Tube and the prewar GP cars are the first race on Sunday. Terrific stuff ! Graham ( glued to my laptop all weekend) |

Well done John on racing K3030 at such a prestigious venue.
Previously the late Peter Green raced K3011 at the same venue. The ex Parnell single seater K3009 was also raced there but I am not sure who was driving?
Graham - can we have the link?

Not wishing to steal Graham's thunder, but here is the link.

I think you should be able to 'grab' the point at which the live transmission is found and drag it backwards to watch the earlier transmission...

I believe it was Richard Last who raced the Parnell K3 at Monaco. Simon J J3437 |

His time in the Parnell-MG K3 (K3009): 2.11,582. Dick drove the Parnell-MG a total of 6 times at the Grand Prix Historique Monaco (2000, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2010 and 2012). A super performance, a super driver was Dick!

You see? That’s these new fangled hydraulics for you. Wouldn’t have happened with Bowdens.

If you want to watch the pre war race with John Gillett and K3030 this is the link for the full day's racing - https://youtu.be/X0xKh6L5RMU - and the pre war race is at 1 hour 3 minutes or thereabouts.

John Gillett came 12th out of 20 entries with 15 finishers and K3030 was the only M.G. in the race. The TV coverage tended to concentrate on the battle at the front between a couple of ERAs so John didn’t really feature in the race coverage. These screen grabs are from Saturday's practice.

A super performance! Congratulations to John Gillet. Wonderful that an MG K3 competed in Monaco.

Well done to John for flying the MG flag and finishing in 12th.
Roland, perhaps we will see K3009 make a return to Monaco?

Dear George In 2020 I was accepted in the starting field...then Corona came and the race was cancelled. In 2021 I had back surgery in January and unfortunately had to cancel my participation. And for 2022 I felt still too less fit for this race. But this year I will drive many races in Anneau du Rhin, Hockenheim (already raced), next in Lenzerheide, Donington, Silverstone... and maybe Goodwood again if I get the invitation. This way I will have the practice I need to race in Monaco. Grand Prix Historique Monaco 2024 is my plan! Greetings from Switzerland Roland
