Dear all, Does anyone have a Lucas FT27 Fog Lamp (preferably an original i.e., not a 'modern' reproduction) suitable for restoration, which they no longer need, please?

I have a restored Lucas FT47 light I will sell. It is an original. Hugh Pite jenntoo@shaw.ca |

Hugh, if Bruce chooses not to buy your spot lamp, I may be interested. What is your asking price? (With shipping to Minnesota.)
And is that a FT47 or FT27?
Cheers, Lew Palmer

Hugh, Same as Lew's questions: 1) FT27 or FT47? Do have/can you post a photo, please? 2) Your asking price and P&P to the UK?

Hi, my mistake - it is a restored FT27. Here are some pictures. The price is $475 USD plus shipping. An estimate for shipping is $70 USD to the UK. Shipping to the US should be much less. Hugh Pite

Hugh, Thanks for your update; OK, it is restored, BUT is it an original Lucas lamp, or restored reproduction lamp? Either way, I'm a pensioner, so it's too expensive for me; so see if Lew is still interested.
I would like to find/buy an original Lucas FT27 in need of restoration, please.

A bit pricey for me too. I have lots of money I need to spend on the restoration of NA0651 and this is near the last thing I will need. So for now, I'll pass. But thanks, Hugh.

As I mentioned in a previous post, it is a restored original light with Lucas and FT27 stamped on the bottom near the mounting stem. Hugh Pite |

As an aside, for anyone thinking of such a purchase from outside the UK, customs duty and VAT can add eyewatering amounts to any original purchase so please do factor that in... It's all a bit late when you get the note through that says you have to cough up before delivery...

Unless, of course, you’re in Norn Iron and it’s coming from the EU. I bought a boot floor for my daily driver car from Lithuania (yes, really!) and after it was delivered, FedEx sent me a bill for sixty or seventy quid for import duty, VAT, admin, etc., etc. I pointed out to them some weeks ago that no import duty nor VAT was payable for goods moving within the single market and so far I’ve heard nothing more.

This topic has veered away from my original posting.
Please, does anyone have for sale or know the whereabouts - of an original (not reproduction) Lucas FT27 Fog Light suitable for restoration?

Will this be purely for decoration, Bruce, or are you planning to be driving in fog? If the latter, it might be worth thinking about some sort of rear fog light as well.

ST38 LED rear fog light already secured - so front fog original Lucas FT27 suitable for restoration is still required.
