Not guilty, but nice to see avoidance of the current fashion for calling it the Union Flag!

Clearly a case of misinterpretation. Somebody was sent out to source a distressed flag to accompany parade of "period cars." |

I hate to mention it folks, but could I haul you back (using the register's windlass) to the thought of a Suffolk - or shall we say Suffolk/East Anglia tour? Thanks!

Ignoring Dicks protestations - here is a final quip about the flag. As the forum name of the picture owner is "OZ" and his car is "OS" then surely he is entitled to an upside down Jack
Sorry Dick |

Nothing to do with my personal geographical location but would anyone consider a nice continental tour like so many M.G.'s did in the 30's? I'd say take the ferry to Hook of Holland and drive (with a detour) to Calais to take the tunnel back. If you go via Maastricht and plan the route well you could easily see the Netherlands, Germany Belgium and France (and with a detour Luxemburg and the Ardennes too). But perhaps the estimated 500+ miles is prohibitive?

Speaking entirely personally Onno, the idea appeals but we then run into a problem. The P hasn't enough luggage capacity for these 21st Century travellers so we need the tow car's luggage abilities to take us to a central base. Being based at a fixed point in the Netherlands would be another thing entirely.

Personally, Dumfries and Galloway would be a lot more convenient for us than sur le continent. But that aside, 500 miles of touring with a different hotel every night is simply impractical.

There was a time when an extensive continental jaunt would have been attractive and manageable with restricted luggage capacity, but on digging out my reversible gown-less evening strap, I find the moths have done their worst.
I have to agree with Simon. |

Jean and I have just come back from a tour in Ireland. Including the Gordon Bennet Run and the Ring of Kerry. We did 1500 miles in 8 days in a two seater PA, so it can be done. Mike. |

And I've just done 1500 miles to Freudenstadt in Germany and back in one of the Austin 7s. Come on chaps, it quite possible. With a few non-driving days thrown in, a bottle of handwash taken with you solves the amount of packing you need to do...

But surely Hugh, you cannot be seen in the same dress twice, even if it is clean.
