I have recently bought , from an Antiques Fair , a model of a K3 , complete with an RAF officer driving , made by King and Country .
I have researched this manufacture and seen they make very detailed models , mainly of military men , throughout the ages .
They also make 1/30 th scale models of various vehicles , again mainly military but there is an Aston Martin Ulster shown and a Fiat 500 Topolino but l can find no trace of a MG K3 .
Does anybody have this model in their collection ? It must be quite rare , l think , but how rare . For it to be missing from their current listing possible means that it was discontinued due to low sales so few were produced .
The detailing is quite good particularly on the RAF officer , as with all their models of soldiers.
Any info would be gratefully received . Thanks.

Hello, Ray.
Would it be possible to post a picture of your model K3?
Best regards,
Chris

A Google image search brings up this: https://www.kingandcountry.com/sports-p-5616.html

And another for sale on eBay in Australia: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/164415484075

Looks quite a nice model.

Thanks Simon . Your four angles show that there is a Union Jack flag on one side
only. I thought that maybe mine had lost one but not so it seems .
The paint detailing on the officer’s tunic , scarf and cap is amazing .

I agree - what a wonderful detailed model.
Now with two stripes, that would have been a Flight Lieutenant, who I would have thought would have only been able to afford a J2 or P type!
An Air Commodore would probably be more likely to afford a K3 (just a swap the band colours to make one thick one, light in the centre).
Or maybe with that happy face, he had been allowed to drive it for a day ...

I have one of these. My father saw it somewhere and bought it for me. He is a WWII GI vet (wounded in Germany) and couldn't understand why it was driven by a German officer. He wasn't familiar with RAF uniforms. I seem to remember they were spendy, perhaps $80 when new?

Cheers,
