Hi all, one of the items remaining to be completed on my 1930 M is repair and chroming of the grill surround. I didn’t think it was that bad but I took it to a reputable company in Detroit and they quoted a very high number for repair and suggested i look for a new one.
Is there anyone with a spare surround they are willing to part with? poor chrome is ok, but otherwise fairly good condition is preferred.
I have reached out to a few suppliers in the UK as well.
Thank you! Ken

Ken, Granted, the M radiator shell needed repair and plating. However, no repair and plating in inexpensive anymore, and M-type rad shells are virtually non-existent and expensive if you find one. Yet, on my NA I am going through the same need, but always use JR Custom Plating in North Branch, Minnesota. Talk to Johnny, the owner. His team's work is the very definition of superb. They can do repairs and show quality plating. Call me if you have any questions.

Thanks Lew, I think i found someone highly recommended by the MMM people in Ohio. I am taking it there next week. Otherwise i have done very little, but the Austin is going to storage and will free up space in the garage to start work. |
