Hi all, just purchased a sorry little J2 that needs love and attention.
I’m looking for any info on her. She mostly lived in the north west, and was originally sold by the Merigold Bros in Preston 1933 to Victor Dawes in Blackburn.
It was also owned by Aubrey Johnston in North Hykeham, and a certain George Bunyan, if that rings any bells...
I’ll try to put some photos up as soon as I can.

The record shows this is indeed J3699. The file notes a Ford engine and the car was for sale last year.

Our J Registrar John Emmett will no doubt be in touch with you. I note you have posted some information on the file for the car - John will be able to process info for you.

Welcome to the Forum and well done on your purchase of the J2.

Thank you George! I have already sourced a J2 engine and found a gearbox in the states, but I’m currently in Germany, having just retired, so this’ll be my “senior project!” She needs a LOT of work, for sure!
I was the guy that found Betty Haig’s (ALL 315) J2 in California and got it back to the UK in ‘87. I wonder what happened to it?
Cheers!
Mac

Hi Mac. ALL315 appears to be taxed (according to the DVLA website) so looks to be on the road. :)
Nice to see you rescuing this new project as well.

Betty Haig's ALL 315 sat for a long time on the lot of a used car dearler on Ventura Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley. It was the only J type I knew of and I'd visit it from time to time to see how all the parts in my garage were supposed to go back together.

When it later sold, I provided the new owner with one of the tapes I recorded of Betty relating her motorsports memoirs.

Good luck with TJ 3207, Dana.

I saw this J2 covered in cobwebs and ivy in a damp, rotten shed in 2010. It was one of a few old MGs George Bunyan had. This was in Norfolk, UK. He died a few years later.

Hugh…
Thank you for that. Sometimes we all need a second chance. J3699 will now get hers, with help from me, and the people on here that care.
I have received lots of well wishes for her survival and well being.
She will rise again!
