Supplied to A.B.Sessions of Penarth in January of 1934, so may have spent all its life in Wales. Not previously known to the Register either.![](images/icon_smile.gif)

Have care if bidding on line and allow nearly 1/3 on top of the hammer price for commission & VAT. |

Shame it wasn't the previous lot 251. What are the auctioneers costs I couldn't find them on line.

If the auctioneers accept commission bids I have saved a lot rather than bidding on line, but of course you must set your upper limit and there is always commission plus vat. |

sold for 12k plus 15% commission. Wrong instruments, no headlights, steering wheel, rad and fuel caps etc. It had been robbed after being sat in an old garage for many years reputedly since the 70's. |

Speedo is correct. Nice find but a money pit. Interesting lower front wing derail. No running board joint with the wings and the extending running board strips are interesting.

Where do you get the 15% from?
I think perhaps this is a little optimistic if you read the auctioneer's T&C's although they are inconsistent.

1933 MG J2 sports car, Registration Number TG6582, chassis Number J24365. A true 'barn find' example of this increasingly rare classic British pre-war sports car. Four speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels, 847ccs overhead camshaft four cylinder petrol engine. Bowden cable drum brakes canvas drop head on wire wheels. Dry stored for many years in a well known Welsh country repair garage, unfortunately the car has been somewhat vandalised after break ins at the premises and now does lack certain original features. However the 'bare bones' look eminently suitable for full restoration, to make a no doubt rare and valuable survivor of its type. Very few of the just over 2000 built remain and a project like this must be rarer still. Estate sale. No warranty of any kind implied or given in any way. Sold as seen. (B.P. 15% + VAT)
More Information No documents, as stated in description. |

This is why I made my initial post on this thread.
The auction facilitator was The saleroom.com, the auctioneer, Peter Francis; their buyer's premium being 21% + VAT on all sales. A potential additional 4.95% internet bidding surcharge is also applicable. This comes to over 31% on top of the hammer price.
This was clearly shown on the bidding screen at the time of the auction.
This is still visible if you follow the link to show the sold lot, click on see item details, then scroll down and click on T&Cs & important info. Tab. |
