My J1 "Box of bits" contained a pair of 1 1/8" semi-downdraft SU HV2 carburettors with bronze bodies and float chambers(Serial No.s HV4907, HV4900). According to my researches, these might be appropriate for an NA but my various books only show bronze bodies on 18/80 and these are horizontal not semi-d.d.. Can anyone suggest which car they are from?

P.S. Burlens cannot help me.

Hi John

Both my N type engine fitted to my Magna and my friends NB are fitted with the SU HV2 carbs but not bronze. Bronzed bodys and float chambers were normally fitted to the early cars not sure about MG however.
Should you wish to sell them let me know.

Best regards

Bill
