Hi Andy, the likes of Andy King, Sports & Vintage and Barry Walker all spring to mind as possible sources

Colin, Andy is looking for the C type racing filler cap, not the more common later one fitted to the J4, K type etc. As far as I am aware, nobody makes these earlier caps now

I do know that Ron Grant produced patterns for these C type caps and made a number in aluminum and bronze. ( I had a bronze one) Anyone know where the patterns went?? Chris |

As far as I can recall, when Ron made a very limited number around 20 years ago, and we are possibly talking just one or two, he ‘knife and forked’ them out i.e. he did not pattern and jig up for these. He showed me the project in his home workshop at the time. The C type cap can be machined out of solid stock, the later caps ideally need patterns / castings.
If the patterns were there at the time of the dissolving of his estate then I would have recognised them immediately as I went through everything thoroughly

Sorry Andy my mistake I’ve checked and they are not the quick release caps but flat brass cap for the oil tanks. I will post a picture when back at work currently off with flu |
