It’s amusing that, at 1275cc, the little Midget engine fitted to this car is actually bigger than the N Type engine at 1271cc.

Mmm. An "identical car" but with a different reg number sold in my local ACA auction late last year for £7k. I had assumed someone had bought it for the body. |

The reg number is unusual in that it’s a Norn Iron one and relatively recently issued I would guess. The IG series was originally allocated to County Fermanagh but for some unknown reason it wasn’t used until, I think, 2004 when it started to be used as an age related number. With just two letters such numbers looked quite appropriate on vintage, and later, cars. With the addition of a prefix letter the number was more widely used and I recently owned a 2019 car with a UIG number. So it might well be the same car that was auctioned but with a new number as the last V5C was issued on 30 November 2022.

Lovely to see someone recognised the worth of an original body after the car had most likely been turned into another “K3”

Does happen from time to time Onno as witness the very road worthy K1 which suffered that fate but whose body then went to get another K1 on the road. Shame the special builder couldn't have accessed this car and left the matching numbers one alone!

Let us hope though that the unsuspecting general public do not confuse this creation with the real thing as whilst it may have an original N type body tub, there are various other aspects which make it look like a kit car, which I suppose this is exactly what it is and nothing more. Cheap fun I suppose anyway.
