I have discovered that the float level fork on one of my PB carbs is a "Stranger" ie no matter what I do to it I cannot make it shut off the fuel correctly.

I have numerous SU spares but needless to say not what I need

If someone has a correct "Fork" for a T1 Float bowl in their spares box I would appreciate it if they would contact me.

Regards

Are you sure it is the fork and not the needle valve that is the problem?

Hi Nigel

I understand your comment and have checked the valves, the problem is definatly the Fork.

When comparing the fork with the other carb fork the shape is subtley different althouh at first glance it looks the same, hence my mystery.

I have contacted Michael and hopefully I will sort it out soon.

Thanks for your interest

Regards

Hi Mike

I have contacted you off Forum with my address, here are a few photos that show the subtle difference that is causing my query.

You can see the difference between the 2 forks and the height of the spindle pins.

Thanks again for your help I really appreciate it

If all else fails and the lower picture shows the problem one, a dob of solder (and a shard of brass shim) on the working surface of the fork could be a short term fix?

Thanks to Michael for supplying the correct Fork for my carb and also thanks to Nigel for his suggestion however getting another fork was a reasonable task.

The fork that I replaced was subtly different in many ways however at first glance it looked the same.

I can now set the fuel height in both Float chambers correctly
